A FAMILY had a miraculous escape after a gas explosion reduced their house to rubble.
The semi-detached home in Cloes Lane, Clacton, was ripped apart at 8.30am yesterday. The blast, which could be heard across the town, blew out windows in neighbouring homes and scattered debris across the street.
Witnesses said one victim was trapped in the middle of the wreckage sitting in his bed.
