A 16-year-old boy was dragged out of his home in handcuffs and held in cells for almost an hour after being wrongfully arrested.
Nathan Gates was getting ready for school at his home in Forest Road, Greenstead, when seven officers reportedly arrived in a police van at 8am on Tuesday.*
He was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken to Colchester Police Station while still in his school uniform.
His dad Christian claimed an officer had looked into the cell and simply said, ‘we’ve got the wrong boy.’ The dad-of-six said: “It was terrible, my boy was crying, that done me in.
“I can’t believe the way they treated a young 16-year-old boy, it is downright disgusting."
