A mum was amazed to discover a huge scar running down a tree after it was struck by lightning.
Susie Romain, 42, watched Saturday night’s storm from the safety of her home in Cape Close, Prettygate, and thought she had seen lightning strike in a nearby street.
The following day she decided to investigate, while walking her dog, and discovered the scarred tree in an alleyway between Straight Road and Weavers Close in Lexden.
The mum-of-one, who works as a teaching assistant, said: “It was pretty awesome."
