JEWELLERY and cash worth hundreds of pounds were stolen during a burglary in Colchester.

Police are appealing for information following the raid in Woodrow Way, Colchester, on Sunday.

Crooks ransacked the home between 3pm and 6pm.

Det Con Hannah Richardson, said: "We’re looking to speak with anyone who saw people at this property on Sunday afternoon and indeed those individuals who may have seemed out of place on this street at the time.

“The couple living at this flat are devastated at being burgled and will take some time to get over the invasion of their home and privacy.”

A forensic examination of the scene and house-to-house enquiries have already been carried out.

Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact detectives at Colchester police station on 101.
