A HOMELESS charity has announced plans to open its fourth shop in Colchester opposite the town’s bus station.
Emmaus will open the new shop at the former Kwik Fit car repair unit in Osborne Street, within the next fortnight.
The move temporarily ends speculation the site could be redeveloped to form part of the Vineyard Gate Shopping Centre.
Kwit Fit moved from the building in Osborne Street last October, to a new premises in North Station Road, Colchester.
The lease was put up for grabs by Caddick Developments, and Emmaus, which already has a warehouse behind the site in Arthur Street, has taken it on.
It is for five years.
