RECYCLING centres may close as part of a review by County Hall.
Essex County Council currently spends £6.4million a year running 21 centres.
However the authority says need for the centres has dropped as kerbside recycling has increased over recent years. In addition it says some older sites may no longer meet the needs of a modern recycling centre.
A survey of Essex residents asking how they use recycling services is launched today and runs until Sunday April 20.
To complete the survey visit the county council website or pick up a paper copy at libraries and recycling centres.
