THE company in charge of a Polish food store has been fined thousands of pounds for selling food not labelled in English.
Minidelikatesy Kubus, a business selling mainly Polish food, and its director, Marcin Frankowski, each admitted 20 charges at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court. Nine of the items were on sale at the company’s Braintree shop, in Fairfield Road, during a Trading Standards inspection last April.
Frankowski, of Challinor, Harlow, was fined £700 and ordered to pay £100 costs and a £70 victim surcharge for breaching the Food Labelling Regulations 1996.
The company was fined £2,250 and instructed to pay £1,350 costs and a £120 victim surcharge.
