A MAN receiving help for alcohol issues has apologised after he admitted being drunk and disorderly.
Martin Doherty, 39, from Manningtree, went on a drinking binge after splitting with his partner and losing his home. Several people called police about an abusive man staggering in the middle of Low Road, Harwich, on December 12 last year.
When officers they arrived, the abuse continued and they arrested Doherty.
Doherty, speaking at Colchester Magistrates’ Court yesterday, said: “I am sorry for my actions. I don’t remember that much.”
He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £105 costs.
