A man will be appearing in court today charged with grievous bodily harm.

Barry Hart, 47, of Chinook, in Highwoods, Colchester, is alleged to have committed the offence at a property in St Mary’s Road, Kelvedon, on December 29.

He is further charged with possessing an offensive weapon in the form of a baseball bat.

The victim, a 34-year-old man from Kelvdeon, suffered injuries to his head and face.

Hart was remanded in custody to appear before Colchester Magistrates Court today.

An attack with a weapon of this calibre and nature must have been a serious and deadly situation to be in, how horrifying.

I hope the victim "Unnamed" is recovering well and wish him God speed.
