Burglars steal 17 footballs from club

Essex County Standard: Burglars steal 17 footballs from club Burglars steal 17 footballs from club

BURGLARS have targeted Harwich and Parkeston Football Club for the second time in three months.

Burglars stole £300 of food in October. This time they took 17 new, black and yellow Mitre Calcio footballs from a store at the club’s Royal Oak ground.

Club chairman Tony Armstrong, discovered the breakin.

He said: “We spent £250 on the door after the break in last time, making it secure with double locks and padlocks, and they just used a crowbar to break them all off.

“We had a delivery of 20 footballs and they took 17 of them.

“The last break-in cost us more than £500 and we are in the same situation again.”

Mr Armstrong said the club would be making sure nothing worth stealing was left at the clubhouse from now on.

He said: “It is another nail in the coffin. We are struggling to keep the club going.”

“These idiots are going around and causing all these problems. It amazes me nobody seems to be getting caught for it.”

Anyone who is offered footballs under suspicious circumstances is asked to call Harwich police, on 101.

Bloody right, Steve, it's political correctness gone mad, is what it is. While completely ignoring the fact that immigration to Britain from Romania and Bulgaria will not actually come into line with the rest of the EU until January 1st, we should of course label everybody from these countries as thieves, beggars, and scroungers, and blame them for all crime here already. Trouble is, the do gooders, and the Marxist/Islamist/Jew
ish/feminist/gay conspiracy that runs Britain, will say this is racist. It's bloody political correctness gone mad, is what it is.

Steve Dawson, mad? You only have to look at him to see he's as sane as I am.
Bah.

Sorry to hear of this repeated burglary at this venerable old club. I was there at the Royal Oak stadium a few weeks ago to watch a youth match and the club seemed well supported, to judge by the crowded bar anyway. They don't deserve crimes like this.

Yes, if I may join you in a rare moment of sanity, instead of joining stupid, barking, Steve, in a rant about something that hasn't happened (wow, it just beggars belief that a fellow member of humanity could come out with such nonsense)? I too find the current plight of the Shrimpers very sad, and they really don't deserve this.

In the same year of the Mathews' Final, 1953, the Shrimpers also reached Wembley, and like Mathews, and the forgotten Mortenson, played in front of a crowd of 100,000, going down 6-0 to Pegasus in the Amateur Cup Final. To see them no longer in senior football (they dropped down to intermediate level a few years back) just seems a real shame. I also understand they'll be moving from the Royal Oak, they can't afford the repairs, which again seems very sad. I wish all those involved in Harwich & Parkestone the very best, and a return to your former glory days.
