TWO swans have been killed by cars in Mistley.
The head of a swan was found at The Walls. The body was not found but an examination suggested its injuries were consistent with being hit by a car.
It is thought the body was taken away by a fox.
A second swan was also killed after it was hit by a car.
Mistley councillor Jenny Chaplin, of Rigby Avenue, has called for drivers to abide by the 30mph limit.
She said: “If people controlled their speed a bit we could save the swan’s lives. People need a bit more patience.”
She is also urging residents and visitors to only feed the swans in water to discourage them from walking onto the roads.
