A PEDESTRIAN who died after being hit by a van has been named.
Chris Waters was spotted by motorists walking along the A134 between Newton and Assington on Sunday evening.
Shortly after, police were contacted by a driver, who said he had struck Mr Waters with his van.
Mr Waters, 26, of Roman Way, in Haverhill, was found along the road at about 7.30pm by police officers.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sergeant Bob Patterson, from the Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Serious Collision Investigation Team, has urged witnesses to come forward.
