Essex County Standard: A12 motorists struggle in fog A12 motorists struggle in fog

MOTORISTS struggled to cope with the morning fog on the A12 with six cars colliding during two incidents.

Police were called to the southbound carriageway near Marks Tey just before 8am after four cars collided.

A white Ford Fiesta, green Ford Focus, silver Mercedes and blue Volkswagen Golf drove into each other.

Fortunately nobody was injured and the drivers were able to manouevre their cars off the road.

Just before 10am two more cars collided nearby, between Eight Ash Green and Marks Tey on the southbound carriageway blocking a lane and causing delays.

Motorists are advised to take extra care with conditions difficult on the major carriageway.

agree both..
a simple solution is to take away the switching of cars lights on is to let car makers build in light switches that do it automatically, as some more modern cars already have.
glad to say my mrs Lexus is lighting switched fitted as standard..

we have street lights that are switched on (or were ?)
security lights doing the same..

wonder how many drink drivers get stopped in the post midnight gloom
