Catalytic converter thieves are continuing to target both Braintree and Witham, police have warned.

A taxi driver and her son both had their catalytic converters stolen on the same night in Witham.

Maureen Kenny, of Munro Road, and mechanic Chris Kenny, of Hemingway Road, both drive Peugeot 807 vehicles, which were targeted in the early hours of Friday morning, November 22.

Mrs Kenny, 59, said: “I felt quite angry.
“I have a big taxi sign on the roof, so they know it’s a working vehicle."

Thieves have also been targeting Witham industrial estates.
