Police arrest man on suspicion of attempted murder

A man was today being held on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was left critically injured in Colchester.
Police were called to Speedwell Road after a 45-year-old man suffered stab wounds.
- Forty businesses have been told they have just four weeks before they are booted out of their premises in Colchester.
Shocked traders say the decision - by "council pen pushers" - could mean the end for many of the fledgling firms.
- A dodgy dealer has escaped a jail sentence for clocking cars.
Kevin Hogan, of Cotman Road, Clacton, was told by a judge he had "ripped people off" by selling cars with false mileage.
- A block of flats had to be evacuated after arsonists started a fire in a basement car park.
Firefighters were called to Grey Road, Colchester, and found six wheelie bins, recycling bins, a mattress and some wood alight.
