Ambitious plans have been put forward for a multi-million pound road slicing through swathes of Colchester countryside.
The blueprint for the new road, which would link the A120 to the A133 near Elmstead Market, is part of the suggestions for the future of the Tendring district.
- A convicted conman and former parish councillor has appeared in court after "fleecing" his cousin.
David Smy, 51, of Waldegrave Way, Lawford, admitted fraud by false representation and was jailed for 12 months, suspended for two years.
- Restaurateur Sherri Singleton has won the world championship -for pickling eggs.
- An expert hired by business Stephen Bunting had to watch in silence as a planning inspector opened an appealing to a visitor centre in the heart of the Dedham Vale.
Bunting and Sons wants to build the £25 million centre but as the firm was not represented by a lawyer, it was not allowed to take an active part in the inquiry.
