Roll up for the swap shop
1:00pm Friday 13th September 2013 in News
A CHARITY clothes swap is being held in Colchester to raise money for St Helena Hospice.
Shopaholics are being urged to put the new season stock back on the rails and instead swap their unwanted clothes for new outfits to help raise money for charity.
The event is being organised by PR and digital marketing agency Mosaic Publicity and will be held at Twisters bar on North Hill.
Fashion lovers are invited to take up to ten items of their good quality, high street branded, vintage or high-end labelled clothes, shoes and accessories to swap.
In return they can select up to ten items.
The event, on Saturday September 21, is part of the Birkett Long £50 Challenge which tasks businesses to raise as much money as possible for the hospice from an initial £50 stake.
Money will be raised through an entry fee of £7 in advance or £10 on the door, with concessionary rates, as well as from refreshments.
Tickets can be bought in advance from mosaicclothesswap.eventbrite.co.uk.
Swappers are asked to drop their clothes off between 10am until 12.30pm at Twisters and the swapping will take place between 1pm and 4pm.
Any unswapped clothes will be donated to the hospice charity shop.
Mosaic Publicity is also organising a fancy dress Grease sing-a-long at Firstsite on September 25 from 7pm.
Tickets are free from firstname.lastname@example.org but attendees are urged to donate to the charity.
