Temporary A&E reception ready to go
A TEMPORARY reception building is all set for patients at Colchester’s A&E department.
As part of a £2 million five-month revamp of the department at Colchester General Hospital a new waiting room has been added for the walking wounded.
The work is an interim project to increase capacity at accident and emergency before a more permanent solution is developed over the next few years.
The temporary building will officially open at 4am on Tuesday to minimise disruption to patients, and has been clad in the hospital colour scheme to make it less intrusive.
