Colchester: Man charged after police chase

POLICE launched a manhunt after a car driving dangerously failed to stop.
Officers spotted the blue Saab convertible driving erratically along Bromley Road just outside Colchester on Saturday at about 9.20am.
They tried to get the car to pull over but it refused to stop.
Cops followed the car along the A133 and into Alefounder Close in Greenstead, where they found the vehicle abandoned.
A search of the area was launched, involving officers combing the Greenstead streets and back alleys, as well as hunting through gardens.
Police arrested a man in connection with the incident and he has now been charged with five offences.
Justin Cartwright, 24, of Hunwicke Road, Colchester, as been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, having no insurance and having an invalid driving licence.
He was also charged with affray following an incident in Colchester on October 3 last year.
Cartwright has been remanded in custody to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
