Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in A12 crash

THE A12 was closed in both directions after a motorcyclist lost control of his bike and suffered life-threatening injuries.
The man, believed to be in his 60s from Hornchurch, is believed to have lost control of his Suzuki motorcycle and collided with the central reservation at junction 30 Stratford St Mary at 7.25pm on Monday evening.
The road was closed in both directions after the man ended up on the southbound side of the reservation. He was taken by ambulance to Colchester General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Part of the southbound carriageway was to reopen at around 9.30pm. The northbound side was due to be closed for some time.
