A COLCHESTER auction house has been playing an important role in a BBC show.
Reeman Dansie welcomed TV cameras as various items from around the country went under the hammer as part of the broadcaster’s programme, the Antique Road Trip.
The show sees antiques experts set off on a road trip around the UK searching for treasures and competing to make the most money at auction.
James Grinter, an auctioneer at Reeman Dansie, in Wyncolls Road, said: “It was a great auction, very crowded.
“I think they were happy because their items did quite well.”
It is the second time the auction house has been filmed for Antiques Road Trip and it has also been used in Flog It.
The items included an art-deco children’s chair, various items of china and a policeman’s truncheon.
The episode, which was filmed on Tuesday, August 13, is due to air in the spring.
