Merchant Navy veterans and descendants wanted
MERCHANT Navy veterans are wanted by Royal Mail ahead of the release of new stamps.
Crew members, and their descendants, are invited to share their stories before the limited edition stamps go on sale in September.
Once stories are gathered selected people will be invited to a reception aboard the Cutty Sark where they can swap tales and hoist flags commemorating a number of the great Merchant Navy vessels.
Families of sailors who worked on the East Indiaman Atlas of 1813, Royal Mail ships Britannia and Queen Elizabeth which entered service in 1840 and 1940, The Cutty Sark and The Clan Matheson, and The Lord Hinton in the 1980s are also encouraged to get in touch.
- To share your story e-mail email@example.com, or call Miki on 07900 690 574.
- Alternatively write to: Merchant Navy Campaign, Office 101, 145-147 Boston Road, Ealing, London, W7 3SA.
Make sure to include contact details and the names of the ships served upon.
