A LONG-SERVING Colchester consultant has been appointed to a national role.
Dr Marion Wood, a haemotologist based at Colchester General Hospital since December 1992, has been appointed Chair of the Association of Clinical Pathologists (ACP) for the next five years.
Established in 1927, the association aims to improve pathology, help training and establish where members can exchange views on work and research.
Dr Wood was medical director of Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust between 2004 and 2008, and deputy medical director for three years before that.
