Fundraiser James tops £3,000 for charity
FUNDRAISER James Critchley has pushed his charity collection total to more than £3,000 - even though he is only 12.
James, a student at Colne Community School and College in Brightlingsea, held a summer fete in his back garden and raised more than £1,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
James and his family, including his mum, Sue, and gran, Jenny, recruited face painters, a fortune teller, stalls, a human fruit machine, raffle, tombola and range of other attractions to the event which was staged at their home in Frating and at the village hall next door.
The event followed two earlier fundraisers.
When James was nine, he and his family raised £1,000 for St Helena Hospice.
He was back behind the stalls again when he was 11 and raised £1,200 for Macmillan cancer care.
