Woman cut free after crash on University campus

A WOMAN had to be cut free from her car after a crash at the University of Essex.

Firefighters, police and paramedics were called to the campus after two cars collided at the junction of Park Lane and Boundary Road.

The ambulance service were called at about 6.15pm last night  and decided one of the drivers should be cut free to be moved safely, because she was suffering from neck and back pain.

Fire crews from Colchester and Wivenhoe arrived at 7.15pm and spent an hour cutting the woman, aged in her 50s, free before she was taken to Colchester General Hospital.
