In today's Gazette: A cannabis farm dicovered in a flat has been busted.
Residents living in Hallcroft Close, Highwoods, Colchester, reported suspicious activity, strange smells and an unusual buzzing sound. Police raided the flat to find a converted drugs farm.
* A family is lucky to be alive after a fire filled their home in St John's Road, Colchester, with smoke.
* A heroic medic who saved the lives of four men while being shot at has been recognised for his bravery.
Corporal Daniel Rudge, of 16 Medical Regiment, based at Colchester Garrison, was on patrol in Afghanistan with the country's police when they came under heavy fire.
Cpl Rudge gave life saving treatment and got casualties to safety.
* A reward of £3,000 has been offered for information about the murder of Thomas Brittain in Colchester.
Crimestoppers is offering cash for information leading to the arrest and conviction of his killers.
