9:21am Wednesday 20th March 2013 in News
A NEW campaign to cut down on the number of burglaries in student homes is proving successful.
Officers have noticed a reduction in the number of student homes being raided since launching the lock it or lose it campaign.
Essex Police joined forced with the student union at Essex University to start the campaign.
It is aimed at students who live on and off campus in student housing and offers advice on how to reduce the risk of house burglaries.
A short web film has been created to support the campaign.
Sgt Sue Richardson said since the launch the number of burglaries has decreased and she is hopeful the downward trend would continue.
