SOUNDS and stars came to a Lexden school when it was visited by a top singer/songwriter.

American star Beth Nielsen Chapman took time out of her UK tour to help teach astronomy at Holmwood House School.

The country and pop performer’s latest album, The Mighty Sky, looks at space and how we study it through both its music and lyrics.

Holmwood House was the first school in the country to be visited by Ms Chapman, who ran two workshops looking at both music and science.

That's very cool, lucky kids. Think my school had a visit from Darren Day.

Luckily I had left by then.
