Braintree: Local man killed in road crash

A driver who died in a road crash this morning is believed to be from the Braintree area.

Police were called at about 11.15am to a collision involving two lorries in a layby off the A130 southbound carriageway near Rettendon.

One driver, believed to be a man in his 60s from the Braintree area, was confirmed to have died at the scene. Police have yet to formally identify the man.

The driver of the second vehicle, which was stationary at the time, was from the Colchester area. He received minor injuries and was checked over by paramedics.
