Murder investigation launched in Colchester
9:19am Saturday 9th March 2013 in News
A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in a Colchester flat.
Two white men armed with weapons went into Charles House, off St Peter's Street, at around 1.30am on Saturday morning, and threatened one of the occupants.
A man in his mid 20s suffered several knife wounds and died at the scene. Another man suffered a would to his hand.
Det Ch Insp Mark Hall from the Serious Crime Directorate said: "This is the early stages of our investigation and while we are trying to establish the facts I would appeal for anyone with any information to contact police.
"Did you see these two men, described as wearing hoodies or any vehicle in the area around St Peters Street, Parkside Quarter or Middle Mill?"
"I do not believe this was a random attack but was shocking for the family involved at the flat and I would ask for help in identifying those responsible."
Call Essex Police on 101 or via Crimestoppers where information can be given anonymously on 0800 555 111.

It's about time they were locked away for life without parole. Who wants these people walking around after 10 years? Lock them away and keep them away from decent people
Sadly this is becoming a normal occurrance.
No matter how much press is out there to try to stop this it will always happen.
I feel for the family of the boy that has been stabbed and hope they get the justice they deserve.

The government could not care less about safety in our community - it costs too much for them to build the extra prisons required and lets face it prison these days is more akind to a 3 star hotel. Bring back flogging, and name and shame these individuals.

The sad reality is that a young man has lost his life and left a lot of family and friends. These family and friends will probably never come to terms with this. The men/women who did this may also have familys who will no doubt be let down and face hard times because of this incident.
If enough effort was put into place by the government and police to have more gun/knife amnesty's then we might find that this culture would slow down.

Just wish these stupid people could see the damage that a knife does to the people that have to clear this mess up.
But what ever happened to the old days when a little punch up solved everything as opposed to the tactics of weapons today. At least back then people were able to go home and live another day.
Total lack of respect for anything nowadays....... including life itself.

Todays drug culture is an absolute curse on society, and those who indulge, just dont think, or care about the consequences.
'Yes' in the old days we had our young offenders, the teds in the fifties, mods & rockers etc etc, but nothing like this.
Maybe there's a case for national service, and bringing back Borstal training..

But borstal training I would think would be a good idea.
Perhaps even the local policeman having the option for the clip round the ear like yesteryear would be a healthy deterrent.

In answer to your question. Many people lose there life in self defence. Many people carry knifes as a precaution to counter attack and never realise that they cannot use it and if anything, they give a potential attacker a weapon.
As things go, you are correct. A door was kicked in, guns and knives where carried and the poor man did not even live there. But no one knew this when they were posting about what should happen to the attackers. It amazes me how many people will assume one knife attack is the same as the next. I only meant that there was more to solving a murder crime than just hanging the culprit.

These things happen and will continue to happen all because the British public are to gutless to do anything about it, Essex Police havn't solved the last murder in Colchester yet and all the goverment can come up with is hug a hoodie, our soldiers go off to fight in Afghanistan when the real terrorism is on our streets in fact I think my son or daughter would be safer there than a night out in the UK, mark my words in a few months time maybe even sooner we will have a simular story on the streets of Colchester and we will be told that these things are a rare occurance bullshi*
A tragic loss of life but as mentioned before this wasn't a random attack this chap was targeted i think in coming week some interesting facts will emerge about this case.

Colchester is a safe town, it is very very unlikely you will ever encounter someone armed with a knife. This attack was premeditated, the victim and attackers knew each other. Nothing about it was random.
After the serial killings in Ipswich you wouldn't think that everyone in Ipswich was a serial killer and leave the town in fear for your life. You need to get some perspective, I fear you may be clogging your small mind with too many fear mongering articles from the gutter press.
