Thieves target village post office twice

A VILLAGE post office has been targeted by thieves twice in two weeks.

Staff at the post office and newsagent in High Street, West Mersea, were shocked to come to work on Wednesday to find somebody had taken a crowbar to the door in an attempt to get in sometime overnight.

The good quality of the security prevented them but the manager revealed it was the second time in two weeks they had been targeted.

Within the last two weeks thieves have climbed onto the roof and stolen lead.

Anyone with information call Colchester police on 101.
