Ahhhh - how cuteness affects the way we think

CUTENESS and its influence on behaviour is the latest topic of an academic talk series.

The trait plays an enormous role in popular culture from animation companies featuring humans and animals with exaggerated infantile features through to marketing campaigns putting images of cute babies at the heart of their commercials.

PhD student Jen Lewis from Essex University’s pyschology department is giving a free talk, entitled The ahhh factor! How and why the Infant Facial Configuration Influences our Behaviour.

  • The Cafe Scientifique event takes place on Wednesday at The Minories, in Colchester High Street. Doors open at 6.03pm with the talk beginning at 7pm.
