Revamped A&E plans for Colchester hospital

AMBITIOUS plans have been unveiled for an expanded accident and emergency ward at Colchester General Hospital.
The existing building could be developed and the internal lay-out redesigned as part of hospital expansion plans.
Chief executive Dr Gordon Coutts said the hospital’s board had agreed the department would be the focus of the next major building project.
More detailed plans will not be unveiled until 2014-15 following staff consultation.
