BAR staff have been doing their bit to raise money for a military charity.

Staff at the Slug and Lettuce, in High Street, Colchester, aimed to raise £1,000 for Help for Heroes by running on a treadmill for every hour the pub was open between Tuesday, February 26, at 10am, and Saturday at 11pm.

The event is part of the chain pub’s national drive to raise money for the charity.

Last year the chain raised more than £21,000.

Three members of staff in the Colchester bar are also planning to take part in the Colchester half marathon, which takes place on Sunday, March 17.
