Give me strength. Another totally ridiculous "story" from the Gazette.

These local trains need cleaning at the end of each journey just the same as the intercity routes. After all we pay the same fare or more on these trains, without the benefit of the same prebook off peak discounts that are available on the intercity.

It is the filthy passengers who make the trains dirty, putting their dirty feet on the seats, spilling their food and drink, leaving their litter.

You cant polish a turd. They don't need cleaning, they need replacing.

Maybe you can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter.

Which wont help these carriages! Look at the express trains we have, 25 years old. Well past their sell by dates.

wellnow, once you get East of Colchester or travel off-peak theres plenty of legroom for the chavs to put their feet on the seats.
I'm with Boris its the filthy passengers that cause the mess. As well as putting feet on the seats they smother them in drinks, chewing gum, chocolate and God knows what else. The worst thing I've seen is a train arriving at Liverpool St, mother gets off with baby in arms, but granny (would say 50 ish) gets up and deposits an open nappy sack with a soiled nappy in it on a seat before getting off. There were 2 bins right next to the seat she placed the sack on !!

This is good news for all classes of travellers from the first class passengers who are too posh to wash to the third class peasants who cannot afford to have a bath.
