Kids spotted throwing missiles off A120 footbridge

An object was thrown from a footbridge over the A120.

The incident, which happened near the B1417 Rayne Road, near Braintree, occurred at around 2.30pm.

A driver reported that she had to swerve when a small piece of wood was dropped from the footbridge.

She believes the object was thrown by a youth, so police are asking parents to ensure that it is not their children committing this dangerous act.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at Braintree police station on 101.

Lets hope this is the last event of this type. The parents must ensure that their children realise the gravity of this behaviour. Nothing must be thrown from bridges however seemingly harmless the item might appear.

Especailly a missile. And how on earth has a child managed to pick up something potentially as big as a Scud up?

I hope it will be the last but on the other hand it could be the start of health and safety spree of putting up high parapets on all road bridges just because children (and some adults) don't know the dangers. After all, hundreds of miles of fences have appeared by Britain's railways when previously there was no need.
