Emergency stroke unit

EMERGENCY stroke care is set to remain at Colchester General Hospital, an NHS review has recommended.
A panel has decided hyper-acute stroke units, which treat patients in the 72 hours after they suffer a stroke, should only be at Colchester General, Southend and Chelmsford’s Broomfield hospitals.
The decision will mean all patients in Essex can immediately access care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
