Residents set for crunch meeting over U's training ground permission
5:33pm Thursday 14th February 2013 in News
RESIDENTS opposed to a football club which has been given permission to use its training ground for longer have vowed not to give up their fight.
In January, Colchester United was given permission by Colchester Council to use its Grange Road training ground, in Tiptree, for extra hours, to allow the club to apply for category two youth academy status.
Residents opposed the plans, saying it would create excessive noise.
The objectors have now called a public meeting, with MP Priti Patel, to discuss the decision.
The meeting will take place tomorrow at Tiptree Community Hall, in Rectory Road, at 7.30pm.

A pretty clear indication of the resident's desperation is that they see Ms Patel as their best bet.

Giving up is the usual choice of MPs. You only have to look at the way Bob Russell works to see that!
