Essex County Standard: New Chief Constable chosen for Essex Police New Chief Constable chosen for Essex Police

METROPOLITAN police officer Stephen Kavanagh is set to be the new chief constable for Essex.
 

Police and crime commissioner Nick Alston has named the current deputy assistant commissioner in the Met as his choice to take over from current chief constable Jim Barker-McCardle in May.
 

The choice will now have to rubber stamped by the police and crime panel for Essex.
