Residents celebrate new fence

A FENCE has replaced a dishevelled hedge after a three-year campaign by residents in Greenstead.
Councillors for St Andrew’s ward helped households in Conifer Close get new fences for their front gardens.
The old hedges were tatty, dishevelled and diseased which ruined residents’ street view and did not create any defensible space for them.
The fencing work, completed by Boleyn Construction on behalf of Colchester Borough Homes, has met with great approval.

I'm glad my tax is being used wisely!!.

I cannot understand why these residents can't pay for general repairs and running costs themselves.
I bet they are too busy wasting their benefits on fags and lottery tickets!!

The Young duo that don't even live on the estate have come up with something yet again.
Was on the estate this week, and all I saw was, the same old crap on the ground. Bins that have not been made empty in a long while. Saw needles on the parking area down at the bottom of Hawthorn Ave.
I think that Kris H was right. The prize was not for the real estate, but for them over on the posh side of Longridge.
I am happy that the hedges have been replaced, but can't understand why it has taken so long to get them. I guess they had to steel them from some other place first
