Fresh funding for Colchester's Hythe secured

THE regeneration of Colchester’s Hythe has received a fresh funding boost.

Colchester Council has secured European Union funding totalling 264,500 Euros - around £228,000 - for a series of projects aimed at reviving the town’s Old Port.

Lyn Barton, councillor responsible for renaissance said, “The Old Port at the Hythe is really important to local residents and a key part of Colchester’s heritage.

“We are delighted to have secured this additional funding and it will go a long way to helping us improve the area for current and future generations and acknowledges the confidence the EU has in this project and how it’s progressing.”

I'm really pleased to see this, but I wonder, will Anglian Water do anything to stop it from smelling like a cesspit?

What can you do with £228.000 these days? That is probably the salary that will be paid to some council official to decide what to do!
