Chemicals dumped through letterbox
2:15pm Friday 1st February 2013 in News
PARTS of Greenstead were cordoned off after an unknown chemical was dumped through a letterbox.
Police, fire, ambulance crews and an emergency hazard team were called to Sycamore Road, Colchester, after a white powder was poured into a home on the estate.
At about 7.30pm yesterday about a dozen emergency vehicles descended taping off the area and evacuating homes.
The powder was later identified as the type from fire extingishers, is not hazardous, and police are investigating the reasons why it was dumped into a home.
Anyone with information about the attack call detectives at Colchester police station on 101.
