Braintree: Anger over potential housing in village
1:00pm Monday 4th February 2013 in News
Some of the residents worried about potential new housing in Coggeshall
Pockets of land put forward for potential housing in an historic village have caused concern.
Braintree Council has earmarked one area of land in Cookfield, off East Street, Coggeshall, for up to 12 houses.
However, developers and landowners have suggested another 17 alternative sites, including recreation land at Vicarage Field, open land beside the bypass, and sites off East Street and West Street.
It is part of the latest stage of the council’s Local Development Framework, the Draft Site Allocations and Development Management Plan, which is currently open to public consultation.
A Braintree Council spokesman confirmed it was proposing only the one site at Cookfield.

We all need to be extremely vigilant about these proposed Developments that are threatening our countryside all over North Essex. Apparently, the best way to do this is to "Comment" on the Applications that you do not agree with on the Braintree District Council Web-Site, and go to the "Site Allocations and Development Management Plan" section, and follow the instructions. Hopefully, we can stop North Essex becoming another Basildon (extension of London with nightmare Social Housing, and all the horrific associated drug use etc).

My wife calls a very well-known brand of moisturising cream the “Braintree Cream“….because that is what our postcode will probably be in 5 years’ time.

Anyone can fall in love
Over the years it has to keep growing
Sun and rain
Joy and pain….add nausea etc.

Yes Braintree is a lovely place to live - if you have moved from East London, if you are from Braintree then things are getting worse!
