River Colne flood alert issued

The Environment Agency issued the alert this morning, for between Great Yeldham and Colchester, following overnight rainfall.
Experts believe the river level will continue to rise, however there is no significant rainfall forecast for the next six hours.
The agency also warned low-lying land and roads may be affected by surface water.
There is no risk from the River Colne in Colchester town centre.
