Kellogg's £500 boost for school breakfast club
KIDS and staff are celebrating after a school breakfast club won £450 funding from breakfast brand Kellogg’s.
Kings Ford Junior School was one of 600 schools across the country to receive the funding.
Karen Wallace, headteacher at the school in Gloucester Avenue, Colchester, said: “Breakfast clubs are a lifeline for many children but with budgets being tight they could sadly become an unaffordable luxury in future.
“The grant will really help our club and we’ll look forward to spending the money on providing breakfast for our children”.
Kellogg’s was prompted to launch the Help Give a Child Breakfast campaign after fresh national research showed 79 per cent of children are going to school hungry.

However, if the statistics are correct then its a very worrying trend that such a large proportion of parents are happy to rely on the school and companies like Kellogs to feed their children.
