The Teddy Bears’ Musical Picnic concert takes place next month, when the Colne Valley Youth Orchestra performs at Colchester Moot Hall.
PARENTS and little ones are being invited to a picnic concert - and they’re being told to bring their teddy bears.
The Teddy Bears’ Musical Picnic concert takes place next month, when the Colne Valley Youth Orchestra performs at Colchester Moot Hall.
This year the young musicians are set to introduce a variety of pieces to appeal to kids, including the specially composed Giraffes Can’t Dance and The Ugly Duckling.
The performance will also include the Dambuster’s March and The Teddy Bears’ Picnic.
Nigel Hildreth, Colne Valley Musical Director, said: “This concert is a perfect way to get young children enjoying music played by an orchestra.
“We have them singing along, getting their own teddy bears to dance to the music and playing some percussion instruments to help our orchestra along.
“It’s a wonderful event and we’d love to see it packed out this year with lots of children and teddies.”
The concert takes place on Sunday, February 3, at 2.30pm. Proceeds will go to the Mayor’s Charities.
Tickets are available, priced at £6 for adults and £3 for children, from the Mayor’s office, in Colchester Town Hall or at the door.
