Recycle for a chance to win a Kindle
7:00pm Wednesday 16th January 2013 in News
GREEN residents are being encouraged to recycle unwanted electrical items to be in with a chance of winning a Kindle e-reader.
Colchester Council is hosting two events where old items, such as games consoles, hair straighteners and toasters and kettles, can be taken along and recycled properly.
Working and broken items are accepted.
The first event takes place at Greenstead Community Centre, in Hawthorn Avenue, on Tuesday, January 22.
A second will take place at West Mersea Town Council office, in Melrose Road, on Thursday, January 24.
Both will run between 10am and 3pm.
Martin Hunt, borough councillor responsible for waste, said: ”With many of us replacing our older electrical gadgets with new models over Christmas and New Year it is really important to recycle those we no longer want.
“I encourage Colchester residents to take their unwanted items to the Greenstead or West Mersea recycling events for a chance to also win a great new gadget.”
