Cyclist rushed to hospital after colliding with a car

A CYCLIST was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after colliding with a car at a roundabout in Colchester.

Police and paramedics were called to Eastwood Drive near Highwoods Square just before 7.30pm last night.

A 46-year-old man collided with a black Mitsubishi Colt and came off his bike.

He was in a lot of pain with injuries to his side, which were not life threatening, and was taken to Colchester General Hospital for treatment.

Two roundabouts were closed while the scene was examined.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to call Colchester police station on 101.

Did he really collide with the car, or did the car collide with him? There is a difference.

The car hit him. It was not his fault - he had lights on and hi-viz jacket and bag as well.
