List of Colchester's historic buildings to be reviewed

A LIST of historic and architecturally significant buildings in Colchester and Wivenhoe is to be revised.

In recent years, 600 buildings, structures and streets in the two towns have been included on the Local List.

Although they are not designated as a Listed Building as they are not of national significance, they are seen as historically or architecturally important locally.

Now, Colchester Council wants to hear proposals for new buildings or assets that should be added to or removed from the Local List.

To put forward a building, email beverley.mcclean@colchester.gov.uk or call 01206 282480 by January 31.

To see the lists visit www.colchesterhistoricbuildingsforum.org.uk/drupal and https://stratus.pbondemand.eu/connect/colchesterborough/?mapcfg=wivenhoelocallist

Let me be the first to suggest the VAF and the bus depot waiting room. Not to mention the pop-up urinal on the high street.

Is the pop-up urinal still there? I thought it was dug up, filled in and closed a while ago. I remember thinking the council were quite literally taking the p**s given how much it cost to install..

Is it still there?
