CATCHING muggers and burglars are top priorities for police in Colchester, according to the borough’s new district commander.
Chief Insp Richard Phillibrown has vowed to try and reduce the rising crime rate by tackling repeat offenders.
Mr Phillibrown said: “We continually analyse data to identify trends and target officers and operations where they are most needed.
“The broad trend has been for overall crime to remain reasonably stable but we are committed to driving these figures down.”
